After many years in the software industry Peter Kropf began taking classes at The Crucible in 2000 dabbling in neon, woodworking, blacksmithing, TIG welding, MIG welding, moldmaking and foundry. Inspired by these experiences and the Crucible community at large, he discovered his love of fabricating metal sculptures.
Today Peter works in a variarty of media including stainless steel,copper, bronze and steel. The use of recycled metal is a recent expansion in his work. He is also fascinated by transforming metal sculpture to make them self illuminating by the use of neon, leds and fire.
Peter can often be found at The Crucible working as a Senior Studio Manager. In his spare time, he is known to drag chaos through their IT department.
